Halomath for Schools — Terms

Effective date
18 November 2026

See also Data Processing Agreement.

Version: 1 Effective date: 18 November 2026

These terms are between HALOMATH LTD (company number 17294004, registered in England and Wales, registered office 2 Washington Road, London, England, SW13 9BE) ("Halomath", "we", "us") and the school named when the account was opened ("the School", "you").

The Data Processing Agreement is part of these terms. Where the two disagree about personal data, the Data Processing Agreement wins.

1. Accepting these terms

1.1 You accept these terms when someone at your school ticks the box agreeing to them, when the school opens a free trial or places an order. We record who ticked it, when, and which version of the terms it was.

1.2 The person who ticks the box confirms that they are authorised to accept these terms and the Data Processing Agreement on the School's behalf.

1.3 If you would rather sign a copy, email hello@halomath.net and we will send the same terms as a PDF for signature. The signed copy and the online version are the same agreement.

2. What the service is

2.1 Halomath for Schools gives your pupils daily Mental Maths practice and gives your staff a view of how each pupil is getting on. It includes:

  • Mental Maths for pupils, signed in with a school login card;
  • a teacher view of each class: who has practised this week, and each pupil's accuracy on each learning objective;
  • a school admin area to manage classes, staff and pupils, print login cards and manage the subscription.

2.2 There are two plans. Plus includes everything above. Standard includes everything except setting practice for a class. The plan you have is shown in your school admin area and on your invoice.

2.3 We keep improving Halomath and may change how it looks or works. We will not remove a main feature of your plan during a paid subscription period without telling you in advance; if a change means the service no longer substantially does what is described above, you may end the subscription under clause 9.3.

3. Free trial

3.1 A new school can try Halomath free for four weeks, on the Plus plan. We do not ask for payment details.

3.2 When the trial ends without an order, pupils can no longer start Mental Maths through Halomath for Schools. Your classes, staff and pupils stay in place, so you can subscribe later without setting up again.

3.3 Each school can have one free trial.

4. Subscriptions and prices

4.1 A subscription lasts twelve months. If you order during your trial, it starts the day the trial ends; otherwise it starts on the day you order.

4.2 The price is the one shown when you order and on the invoice. No VAT is charged.

4.3 You can move from Standard to Plus during a subscription. We invoice the difference for the whole months remaining in the subscription period, and Plus starts straight away.

4.4 A renewal is charged at our price at the time of renewal. We will tell you the renewal price in the renewal email described in clause 6.2.

5. Invoices and payment

5.1 When you order, we send an invoice to the finance contact you give us. You can pay by card or by UK bank transfer from the invoice page. If you give us a purchase order number, we put it on the invoice.

5.2 Invoices are due 30 days after they are issued.

5.3 If an invoice is still unpaid 30 days after its due date, pupils will not be able to start Mental Maths until it is paid. Staff can still sign in, and nothing is deleted. We will remind your school admin before this happens.

6. Renewal and cancellation

6.1 Subscriptions renew for another twelve months unless you tell us otherwise.

6.2 About six weeks before the end of each subscription period we email your school admin to say the renewal is coming. We issue the renewal invoice 30 days before the period ends.

6.3 To stop the subscription renewing, reply to the renewal email or email hello@halomath.net before the renewal invoice is issued. If you tell us after that, we will cancel the renewal invoice as long as you tell us before the new period starts.

6.4 Fees already paid for a subscription period are not refundable if you stop using Halomath part way through it, except where clause 9.3 applies or the law requires otherwise.

7. Your responsibilities

7.1 Use Halomath only for pupils and staff at your school.

7.2 Keep your list of pupils accurate. You are responsible for having the right to give us the pupil and staff information you add, and for telling pupils and parents about it in your own privacy notice.

7.3 Keep login cards and staff sign-in details safe. Turn off a staff account in the school admin area when that person no longer needs access, for example when cover ends.

7.4 Do not try to break, copy or misuse the service, or get into accounts that are not yours.

8. Our responsibilities

8.1 We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill.

8.2 We aim to keep Halomath available during the school day, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We will let you know about planned maintenance that affects school hours.

8.3 If something is not working, email hello@halomath.net. We reply on UK working days.

9. Ending the agreement

9.1 Either of us can end the agreement at the end of a subscription period by telling the other in writing (email is fine), following clause 6.3.

9.2 Either of us can end the agreement straight away by telling the other in writing if the other seriously breaks these terms and does not put it right within 30 days of being asked to.

9.3 If we make a change that means the service no longer substantially does what clause 2 describes, you can end the agreement and we will refund the fees for the whole months remaining in the paid period.

9.4 When the agreement ends, what happens to your school's data is set out in the Data Processing Agreement: you will have 30 days to export it, and then we delete it.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 Halomath, its questions, explanations and software belong to us or our licensors. During the agreement you may use them for your school's teaching.

10.2 Your school's data belongs to the School. We use it only to provide the service, as set out in the Data Processing Agreement.

11. Liability

11.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.

11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, each party's total liability under or in connection with this agreement, including the Data Processing Agreement, is limited to the fees paid or payable by the School in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11.3 Neither of us is liable for loss of profits, loss of business or indirect or consequential loss.

11.4 Neither of us is liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

12. Changes to these terms

12.1 We may update these terms. We will email your school admin at least 30 days before a change takes effect. Changes apply from your next subscription period, unless the law requires them sooner or they do not reduce your rights.

13. General

13.1 Whole agreement. These terms, the Data Processing Agreement and your order are the whole agreement between us about Halomath for Schools.

13.2 Transfer. You may not transfer this agreement without our agreement. We may transfer it to a company that takes over the service, and will tell you if we do.

13.3 Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

13.4 No waiver. If one of us does not enforce something straight away, it can still enforce it later.

13.5 Third parties. No one other than the School and Halomath has rights under these terms.

13.6 Notices. Notices to us go to hello@halomath.net. Notices to the School go to the school admin's email address in Halomath.

13.7 Freedom of information. We understand that the School may be subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Where practicable, the School will tell us before disclosing information about this agreement, so we can point out anything commercially sensitive.

14. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. A school in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in the courts of its own part of the United Kingdom.
